Supply stone to a Mason's Guild
To get masonry points in County of Fortune, build a Mason's Guild and provide a source of stone. The guild turns that supply into the construction resource used for more advanced infrastructure. This becomes especially relevant when you start developing Commoner buildings.
The official County of Fortune demo FAQ describes masonry as the stone-based counterpart to the Carpenter's Guild's wood-based chain.
Establish the quarry and guild connection
Choose a settlement site with access to stone and establish your stone production. Then build the Mason's Guild and make sure the stone can reach it.
Within a region, roads connect the central market squares of settlements. For stone coming from another region in the demo, the transport rules are more restrictive: heavy goods cannot travel between regions by road and require downstream river transport through raft ports. A road between regions does not automatically solve an imported-stone shortage.
Check the guild's production-chain tooltip and any input warning. If the stone supply is missing, expanding the number of buildings waiting for masonry will not provide that input.
Unlock the buildings you want to construct
The FAQ says masonry points are mostly required for Commoner buildings. In the demo, fulfill the settlement's food and equipment consumption needs and use Level Up to reach level 2. The Buildings tab then has the green Commoners icon for selecting available higher-level buildings.
This separates two possible blockers: a building can be unavailable because the settlement has not reached its required progression, or its construction can be waiting for the necessary resource. A Mason's Guild supplies points; it does not replace the settlement upgrade requirement.
Stone-road upgrades are another reason to establish this chain. The FAQ requires quarry stone and a Mason's Guild, followed by selecting the Upgrade road or bridge tool and the road section's start and end points.
Check the regional supply before expanding
The updated construction-point display is in the top-right bar, and the regional balance provides a wider view of the available points. Its tooltip shows the production chain and where the relevant production happens.
Keep both materials and capacity in view. Production-building cards show maximum possible production and consumption, so the displayed potential is not proof of actual output when inputs are missing.
Nivarias's narrated demo gives a player-experience example of obtaining stone, supplying a Mason's Guild and then completing a building that needs masonry. The example supports the sequence; its settlement layout and numerical rates are not universal requirements for your county.
FAQ
What are the basic requirements for masonry points?
A Mason's Guild and a way to obtain stone. The FAQ explicitly identifies both parts of the chain.
Can I use roads to bring stone from another region in the demo?
Not for the heavy stone itself. The official demo rules require river transport for heavy interregional freight, with rafts traveling downstream.
Does having masonry points unlock Commoner buildings by itself?
No. You still need the settlement progression that makes those buildings available. The demo reaches level 2 and the Commoner class.
